How Our International Shipping Works
We use a third party shipping company to send packages outside of the U.S. This allows us to offer lower rates to customers than using shopify's built in shipping options.
International packages are sent out once per week (typically on Monday) from our warehouse in Texas to our shipping agent in Chicago. It takes 5-7 days for the shipping company to receive and process the packages. Your tracking will not begin updating until the packages are processed.
Why Only Once Per Week?
We previously sent international packages every 2-3 days. However, in order to compensate for the costs of sending the packages to Chicago, we charged an additional $3 per package. We felt this extra cost was driving away some customers, so we have removed it. We now eat 100% of the cost of sending the packages to our shipping forwarder, but have to send packages once per week in order to make this decision economical.
Priority DDU VS Priority DDU w/ DC Shipping Options
Priority DDU takes an estimated 4 to 9 business days to arrive after it is processed by our shipping forwarder. It does not offer an estimated delivery window, or delivery confirmation and offers very limited tracking.
Priority DDU w/ DC takes an estimated 4 to 9 business days (although typically quicker than Priority DDU) to arrive after it is processed by our shipping forwarder. It offers full tracking to the customers door, an estimated delivery window, and delivery confirmation.
All DDU shipping is declared at full value and the customers will be responsible for any associated taxes charged by their counties customs agencies.
